Ahhh I await the days of hot summer sun, a nice cool pool, Popsicle and the cool AC. Ya’ll I am so gitty over this Crate Paper Oasis Collection!! It has me pulling out all my summer photos from last year! I think its all the retro bathing suits, flamingos, cactus and so much more. So I went into my Silhouette Studio Library and looked around for something to go with one of the awesome papers from the Crate Paper Oasis Line.

So here’s what I came up with!!

I went with this really cool outline font from the silhouette studio. This paper from the CP Oasis line reminded me so much of a beach towel or the lines in the pool, it was so inspiring to me. I loved the different colors and really wanted to continue that on my layout. So I thought by backing it up on my cut file would be a good choice to really appreciate the beauty of this paper.

See those really cool retro bathing suits??!!! I love them! I love using ephemera on all my layouts but I really love this piece that says hello sunshine, kind of went hand and hand with my title! I also did some mixed media in the background. I used the shimmerz well blue me down mist spray, such a good blue color!

unnamed (34)

Well here it is! I love how I got to use two photos and this huge title at the same time. Sometimes having all of this on one layout came be to much at times but it really worked out and I love it! as always I have a Process Video below!

I am back with another layout using my Hip Kit Club April 2017 Kit. Lately I have been totally feelin the desert vibes. I have been loving the cactus, palm trees, palm leaves and Crate Paper nailed it with their new Oasis line! So I went on Pinterest to get inspired. Most Oasis pictures I cam across where pinks, greens, and aqua colors.

This layout was definitely inspired by some photos from pinterest. So let’s take a closer look at it!

unnamed (27)

I used those palm leaves from the Crate Paper Ephemera pack and the cute gold foiled flamingo. My background paper is from the Maggie Holmes new collection called Chasing Dreams. I felt like that pink distressed looked really made the greens pop.

unnamed (28)

For my title I used the puffy words from the CP Oasis line as well. A Beautiful Five Years is exactly what its been for us. This little beauty is fierce, beautiful and smart and so funny!

unnamed (26)

The cute file I used is from the Silhouette Studio Online Store. It was perfect for the theme I had going on. So what do you think? I have a process video below. Please Subscribe!

Dreams- Boy Layout Using Chasing Dreams by Maggie Holmes

I know most scrapbook collections come off very girly. Being a mom of a boy and girl, I can honestly say my daughter has a fair amount of layouts but not so much when it comes to my son. So I wanted to challenge myself and coming up with a layout for my son using the most famine collection out there. So let’s take a closer look.

I am using the Chasing Dreams Collection From Crate Paper by Maggie Holmes. Maggie is known for her vintage, whimsical, floral collections but I wanted to try and come up with something a little on the boy side.

Here is my goofy son after playing some baseball. I love this photo of him. This is what life is all about, playing, having fun, doing what you love and not taking life to serious. Am I right? I tried using more of the black and green stickers, to give the layout a more masculine feel.

unnamed (67)

For my title, I wanted to keep it simple but to the point and that’s why I love these chipboard pieces. For keeping your layout simple and quick or your having a hard time coming up with a title, these are the way to go!

unnamed (68)

I think this blue stripped pattern paper really brings everything together and screams BOY! I really wanted to make this simple and quick and that it was. So I hope you all enjoy this layout and I will see you in the next post!! below is the process video for this layout.

Lights, Camera, Action!! 12×12 Layout

Hi friends!,

I am back with another layout! I am using up the rest of my February 2017 Hip Kits! I feel like the months are flying by and I don’t get enough time to create with these beautiful kits. So I am trying to catch up and use up as much as I can before my other kit arrives. Do any of you feel this way?? So back to the layout! My inspiration was the 12×12 pattern paper from Crate Paper Chasing Dreams by Maggie Holmes. Let’s take a look!

unnamed (16)

So I fussy cut out these cameras and I had the perfect Photo to go along with them. My sassy daughter herself posing for the camera. I love capturing her in every moment but these sassy ones sure do give me a little giggle.

unnamed (18)

I did a little mixed media with the Heidi Swapp Heidi Shine. I love these two color combos together. They really pop off the page!

unnamed (15)

Moving on to my title. I really should have put #adulting because she looked at me and said “This is how adults dress” lol! I said “oh ya?” I have to be honest, she put herself together pretty good. She had on a matching outfit, hair was brushed, lip gloss on, and that little cross body purse. I really like these phrase stickers from Maggie Holmes Collection. I really like using those in my layouts to tell more of the story.

unnamed (17)

Here is the full layout! I had so much fun creating this layout!! I hope you all enjoy and I will see you in the next layout! Below is my Process Video of this layout. Thanks for watching.

Till Next Time Friends…

I hope that title didn’t startle you to much! I really didn’t know how to go about this bitter sweet moment. I am so Thankful for the opportunity to be on the Hip Kit Club Design Team. I learned a lot about myself and my creative process. However I am sad to leave such a wonderful group of people. I haven’t gave up hope for Design Teams, in fact I want to take a break and see what interest me again.

I have hit a bit of a bump in the road and haven’t had that creative process flow that I once had. One thing I really want to focus on is Project Life. I don’t know if it’s Spring or what it is but I have had this urge to simplify my life and hold on to things that have meaning, You know.. The important things! More about all of that on another post. Let’s get to my last layout!

unnamed (9)

Our Focus for that week was Cut Files. I love a good cut file and I use to use a cut file on almost every layout, but then really didn’t use them anymore. So I was really happy to be able to fire up my Silhouette and get to use this beautiful cut file from the Hip Kit Club.

This photo is of me and my babe right before she met her kindergarten teacher. She and I were so excited for this next chapter in her life.

unnamed (10)

Here is a better look at the cut file. I fussy cut out some of those beautiful butterflies from the Maggie Holmes 12×12 paper. I also felt like this title was fitting for the occasion. One thing I always love incorporating is those word phrase stickers. I feel like you can really get across what you are feeling or telling more of your story by adding those on to your layout.

Alright so here it is! This was so fun and simple, once all the fussy cutting was done. I hope you all enjoy and come back to see more layout using Hip Kit Club goodies and Project Life Spreads!

Hip Kit Club Jan 2017- Sketch Challenge-Inspired By The Movie THE CHOICE

Have any of you seen the movie THE CHOICE inspired by Nicholas Sparks book The Choice??? Oh my Gosh!! Ya’ll I cried! okay I cry watching every movie of his but I cried the UGLY cry. lol!! I won’t say anymore about the movie if you haven’t seen it but YOU MUST WATCH IT!!

Okay let take a look at this layout that was inspired by the movie!

So I used the goodies from American Crafts new line Hazelwood by Onecanoetwo and Pink Paislee new collection Moonstruck! they both are beautiful collections and I couldn’t wait to get started!

I went in with my Shimmerz spray in Smoke. I wanted to give the feeling of start dust falling off the moon. I feel like this really gave the layout a romantic or mystical feel. Judging by the photo, this is not a romantic or mystical photo but I do love these two to the moon and back! awww see what I did there.

I am also loving these rub on butterfly stickers from American Crafts! they are beautiful after applying them on a background. very pretty!

For my title, I wanted to use something minimal since I had a lot of colors and textures going on but I did want to use something with gold to incorporate with the gold on the top right corner of the layout. So I went with this timeless ephemera piece from the Pink Paislee collection and the Love sticker is from the American Crafts Hazelwood collection.

So here is the finished layout! I hope you all enjoyed this layout and after watching the movie, you will understand why it inspired me! So go watch it! My process video is linked below.

Hip Kit Club Jan 2017 Sketch Challenge- Happy Memories

Hey ya’ll!! I am back with another sketch challenge for the Hip Kit Club. This time I couldn’t wait to use that exclusive triangle paper that came in this months main kit. It was just screaming “use me!!” So I didn’t hold back, I went for it! Let’s take a closer look at the details of this layout.

Here is the Sketch that Kim Watson designed. Although its similar to my last layout, I love giving each sketch my own take on how I see it. That’s what I love most about sketches. It really gives you a foundation and you can alter it any way you like!

So I new right away that I wanted to do some mixed media. So I pulled out my water colors and used one of the pinkish orange colors. I use to love water colors as a kid and forgot how fun it was to mix colors and see them dance all over the paper when adding more water, so now as an adult I have that same appreciation for them. Funny how being a kid again can really allow you to escape the trap they call adulthood. lol!

For my title, I wanted to keep in simple but interesting. So I used this HAPPY from the exclusive ephemera pack from the Hip Kit Club. I also used the studio calico puffy letter stickers. I like using different colors and fonts when creating a title. I like to keep thing interesting!

Well I hope you all enjoyed this layout and as always there is a process video linked below! Thanks!!

Love My Honey! Hip Kit Club-Jan 2017- Sketch Challenge

Hello Friends!! I am back with another sketch challenge for the hip kit club! Here is my little guy and his ice cream cone up in the mountains. Let’s take a look at what inspired this layout!

Here is the Sketch created by Kim Watson!

I am working with the new collection from American Crafts, Hazelwood. One of the papers in this collection is a honeycomb pattern with bees. So when thinking about bees, I thought of this picture of my son. Bees love something sweet and that would be my son! oh and his ice cream cone. So this paper was really the jumping off point for this layout.

For my title I used the American Crafts Hazelwood cork pieces and these Celebrate Thickers. They screamed Honey!! I also used Studio Calico letters as well.

I did a little mixed media with some water colors and added some of those beautiful rubbon butterflies and called it good! I hope you all enjoyed this sketch challenge layout for the Hip Kit Club Design Team! See you all next time!

Beautiful Girls!! Jan 2017 Hip Kit Club-Paige Evans- Take Me Away

Hello Hello Hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday. I am back with another sketch challenge for the Hip Kit Club Design Team. I love this sketch for the fact that it’s a grid layout and I have always loved a good grid layout. So let take a closer look on my take of the sketch challenge.

Here is the Sketch.

I fussy cut out this exclusive paper from Kim Watson. Those black and white flowers just sang to my heart!! I mean look how they just pop off the page!! I also used one photo instead of three small photos but still kept the overall design going.

I was really happy to be able to finally use those fun chipboard letters from Pink Paislee Paige Evans line TAKE ME AWAY Collection. I couldn’t wait to get those down on a layout. For my layering behind my photo, I used that beautiful pink couch from the Take Me Away Ephemera pack. I know what your thinking!! WHAT!! but I did.

I hope you all enjoyed this layout! as always there is a process video posted below!!

Forever and Ever in Our Hearts- Hip Kit Club- Dec 2016

I am very excited to share this layout with you all! I love how this Sketch Challenge turned out. I hope you enjoy and let’s jump into it.

Look how pretty these colors are together, and the different textures. I am loving the mixed media this month for sure. I loved using this Maggie Holmes Washi Tape Cross paper. I fussy cut out those crosses, so glad I did. I also went in with my water colors to bring in more color. I just made some simple paint strokes and all of those beautiful colors blended in together and came out wonderful once dried.

This picture is of our dog that passed away a couple of months ago. This picture was to sweet not to document and our poor little daughter. This girl loves animals beyond words. She cares so deeply for animals, you can only imagine her sadness when our dog died. So this photo was so necessary.

What was also necessary was the title. I used these American Craft Thickers and I love how bold they are, they really pop off the page. I just really love this layout for so many reason and I am glad I was able to document such a great moment. Process Video is posted below.
