Dreams- Boy Layout Using Chasing Dreams by Maggie Holmes

I know most scrapbook collections come off very girly. Being a mom of a boy and girl, I can honestly say my daughter has a fair amount of layouts but not so much when it comes to my son. So I wanted to challenge myself and coming up with a layout for my son using the most famine collection out there. So let’s take a closer look.

I am using the Chasing Dreams Collection From Crate Paper by Maggie Holmes. Maggie is known for her vintage, whimsical, floral collections but I wanted to try and come up with something a little on the boy side.

Here is my goofy son after playing some baseball. I love this photo of him. This is what life is all about, playing, having fun, doing what you love and not taking life to serious. Am I right? I tried using more of the black and green stickers, to give the layout a more masculine feel.

For my title, I wanted to keep it simple but to the point and that’s why I love these chipboard pieces. For keeping your layout simple and quick or your having a hard time coming up with a title, these are the way to go!

I think this blue stripped pattern paper really brings everything together and screams BOY! I really wanted to make this simple and quick and that it was. So I hope you all enjoy this layout and I will see you in the next post!! below is the process video for this layout.

Lights, Camera, Action!! 12×12 Layout

Hi friends!,

I am back with another layout! I am using up the rest of my February 2017 Hip Kits! I feel like the months are flying by and I don’t get enough time to create with these beautiful kits. So I am trying to catch up and use up as much as I can before my other kit arrives. Do any of you feel this way?? So back to the layout! My inspiration was the 12×12 pattern paper from Crate Paper Chasing Dreams by Maggie Holmes. Let’s take a look!

So I fussy cut out these cameras and I had the perfect Photo to go along with them. My sassy daughter herself posing for the camera. I love capturing her in every moment but these sassy ones sure do give me a little giggle.

I did a little mixed media with the Heidi Swapp Heidi Shine. I love these two color combos together. They really pop off the page!

Moving on to my title. I really should have put #adulting because she looked at me and said “This is how adults dress” lol! I said “oh ya?” I have to be honest, she put herself together pretty good. She had on a matching outfit, hair was brushed, lip gloss on, and that little cross body purse. I really like these phrase stickers from Maggie Holmes Collection. I really like using those in my layouts to tell more of the story.

Here is the full layout! I had so much fun creating this layout!! I hope you all enjoy and I will see you in the next layout! Below is my Process Video of this layout. Thanks for watching.

Till Next Time Friends…

I hope that title didn’t startle you to much! I really didn’t know how to go about this bitter sweet moment. I am so Thankful for the opportunity to be on the Hip Kit Club Design Team. I learned a lot about myself and my creative process. However I am sad to leave such a wonderful group of people. I haven’t gave up hope for Design Teams, in fact I want to take a break and see what interest me again.

I have hit a bit of a bump in the road and haven’t had that creative process flow that I once had. One thing I really want to focus on is Project Life. I don’t know if it’s Spring or what it is but I have had this urge to simplify my life and hold on to things that have meaning, You know.. The important things! More about all of that on another post. Let’s get to my last layout!

Our Focus for that week was Cut Files. I love a good cut file and I use to use a cut file on almost every layout, but then really didn’t use them anymore. So I was really happy to be able to fire up my Silhouette and get to use this beautiful cut file from the Hip Kit Club.

This photo is of me and my babe right before she met her kindergarten teacher. She and I were so excited for this next chapter in her life.

Here is a better look at the cut file. I fussy cut out some of those beautiful butterflies from the Maggie Holmes 12×12 paper. I also felt like this title was fitting for the occasion. One thing I always love incorporating is those word phrase stickers. I feel like you can really get across what you are feeling or telling more of your story by adding those on to your layout.
