Dec 2016- Hip Kit Club Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday Funday everyone!! I am a little behind on my blog post but I am going to get caught up today. We are having an ice storm as I speak, so my family and I will be inside all day. So let’s take a look at this sketch challenge I have done. Who doesn’t love fringe?? Well I went a little fringe crazy and I loved how it turned out.

I wanted to bring in some mixed media, so I used the Heidi Swapp Color Shine in sweet mint. I just sprayed it right on to the paper and it gave this shiny, messy look. I also wanted to use some sequence to bring in some of that shine! I brought in some of the gold Ephemera pieces from the Paige Evans Take Me Away Collection.

I really had a lot of fun creating this layout for the Hip Kit Club Sketch Challenge. I encourage you to try out these sketch challenges and post your projects over on our facebook forum. As always I have a process video posted at the end of this post.

Hip Kit Club-December 2016- Sketch Challenge-All Smiles

Happy New Year Ya’ll!! Do you all have big goals set for the new year?? I have set a couple of goals for myself! Now let’s just see if I continue to stick with them. Speaking of celebrating, I have another layout for you using the December 2016 Hip Kits!! I am also using another Sketch Designed by Kim Watson,  So let’s check it out!

If this doesn’t scream celebration, I don’t know what does!!

Isn’t this such a fun Sketch Design?

So looking at the mood board this month, Banners kept coming to mind. So I thought I would start there. I love that I stuck with this idea, I just love how this turned out. For the title, I used the American Craft Thickers from the Paige Evans Take Me Away Collection. I decided to keep the title simple, since I had so much going on in the background.

I did a little mixed media. I used my watercolors and some Hedie Swapp Color Shine for the splatter look. I also used an exclusive cut file from the Hip Kit Club and altered it to fit my layout. I also love those gold hearts from My Minds Eye, they are the perfect gold color.

I hope you all loved this layout as much as I do! I hope you reflect on 2016 and strive for better in 2017.

November 2016 Hip Kit Club-Sketch Challenge #4

Hey ya’ll! I am back with my last layout for this months kits!! Today I am working with another sketch for the Hip Kit Club! I have been using a lot of snowflakes in many of my layouts this month and this layout is no different than the rest of them.

I used a cut file from the 12 days of Christmas and I used the cute file from day 7. If you are intrested in any of the cut files, go have a look on my Instagram to see all 12 cut files plus how to download them!!

So back to my layout! I used the title Mountain Top Love because of my beautiful photo. This photo is the night my husband asked me to marry him in the mountains of Colorado! So fun and exciting. It’s so nice to look back and rem anise about the past, So I defiantly wanted to document this sweet photo of us.

I also used some ephemera pieces from the Crate Paper-Snow and Cocoa collection. I hope you all enjoyed this Sketch Challenge and Please feel free to join along with us. You can find the sketches each week over on the Hip Kit Club Facebook Forum. Hope to see you all there!

Hip Kit Club-November 2016 Sketch Challenge #3

Hello Everyone! I hope your staying warm wherever you are! it’s pretty chilly here in Missouri, which is perfect for the layout I wanted to share with you. This is layout number three for the Hip Kit Club and I was really excited to get started. So lets take a look!

Here is the sketch Designed by Kim Watson

As you can see, this sketch was so fun! I couldn’t wait to get started.

These two little cuties had so much fun with these Christmas Photo Props. We all were having such a great time, I couldn’t resist not snapping some photos.

I had a hard time coming up with my title, so I Pinterest  some Christmas titles and I thought this one was fitting for my photo. The letter are from Pink Fresh Studio and Hip Kit Club.

and lastly I wanted to give myself a spot to journal about this day and all the fun we had, so I used one of the exclusive project life cards and added a cluster or goodies and I just love how this layout turned out! What do you think?

November 2016 Hip Kits Sketch Challenge-Snow Much Fun

I am back with a sketch challenge for you all. Here is the sketch that I will be using for this layout. unnamed-37

I was supper excited to jump into doing this sketch for you all! I have never really used sketches before, so this was defiantly outside my comfort zone. For most people when receiving these kits, they feel overwhelmed maybe or don’t know where to start and that’s when these sketches come in hand. So let’s take a look at my take on the sketch.

My favorite part of this sketch is the clusters of snowflakes and those ripped up papers at the bottom. It’s really hard to choose which part is my layout but one thing is for sure! This layout came together really quick with the help of the sketch.

I hope you all try out this sketch and be sure to tag the Hip Kit Club when you post your projects!! See you all soon!!

Too Cute To Scare!!! October 2016 Hip Kits!

Here is my last layout using my #october2016 Hip Kit Club I decided to use the same photo I used in my last #halloween layout. So let’s take a look at what I used in this layout. I used the fun #cutfile from Zinia I used American Crafts Mediterranean Cardstock. The cut file really inspired this layout for me. I just visioned the cut file being streets (like a map) So that’s what led me to fussy cut out the houses from @dearlizzy #dearlizzy #saturday 12×12 paper. Trick or Treat!

To give some color on the white background I went in with my watercolors and added some pink. For my title I used the Simple Stories sticker sheet and the Hip Kit Club exclusive alpha’s.

For the last added touch for this layout, I used We R Memory Keeperssticker sheet. These round stickers were just the perfect pop of interest for my layout. I hope you all enjoyed this layout and I can’t wait to play with our November kits! #memorykeeping #halloween #hipkitclub #scrapbooking#mixedmedia #kits #cutfile #silhouette #trickortreat

Happy Halloween Using October 2016 Hip Kits!

Happy Halloween Sweet Friends! It’s Megan and I am back with another layout using our #october2016 Hip Kit Club but this time I am focusing on Halloween!! Boo!! Jumping into this layout, I knew I wanted to incorporate the original Halloween colors. So I looked at all my papers and decided to use #dearlizzy #saturday Bagel’s paper, American Crafts bubbles card stock, and Maggie Holmes pure joy paper.

I really wanted to bust into my #colorkits and use that awesome #stencil from Echo Park Paper So I used some black acrylic paint and sponged it on the stencil to give me that wicked background! I also gave it some black splatters.

I started thinking about my title…. I remembered those beautiful Pink PaisleePaige Taylor Evans #takemeaway white Thickers. So I thought maybe going over the white with green paint. I mixed together a light green, dark green and a touch of white acrylic paint and it made this Frankenstein green! PERFECT!

I also wanted to use up some of my Ephemera pieces, so I grabbed the Dear Lizzy Saturday Ephemera pieces and put aside all of the black, green, and dark blue pieces. I started layering all of my pieces together going vertically and I really love how it all came together. I hope you all are having a wonderful Halloween!! Be looking out for the process video on this layout over on my YouTube channel!!

October 2016 Hip Kits-Maximizing Pattern Paper

Happy Monday Friends!! It’s me Megan! I am back with another layout! Using the #October2016 kits!! For this layout I wanted to Focus on Maximizing Pattern Paper from the Main Kit. I went ahead and grabbed a couple of different pattern papers, that I thought went well together. I used the Maggie Holmes So Sweet pattern paper, American Craftspink Flamingo, and #dearlizzy Uptown pattern paper for my background.

For my #cutfile I used Kim Watson beautiful flower wreath! I used #americancrafts Stargaze card stock. I know I wanted my cut file to really pop off the page. Going into the layout I didn’t think I would be cutting up that beautiful cut file, but I did and I am so glad I did. I like how I adapted the cut file.

I also used some of the We R Memory Keepers#honeyimhome #stickers and #ephemera pieces. I didn’t want a big title, so I chose the Life is Better With Family Ephemera piece. Well I hope you all enjoyed this layout! Be looking out for the process video over on my #YouTube Channel!!

Layout Using My October 2016 Hip Kits.

Happy Tuesday sweet friends! I am back with a layout using my October 2016 Hip Kits for the first time! This month’s kit really inspired me. Not only is fall my favorite season but the month of October is right up there with Christmas for me. Going into this layout I used the Embellishment Add On Kit, Main Kit, and Cut Files.

So let’s talk a little about this layout. I couldn’t contain myself! I used about everything on this layout. I started with this wood paper from Maggie Holmes #gather #collection , then worked with those exclusive cut files from Kim Watson aren’t they beautiful! I used the Maggie Holmes 12×12 details pattern paper for my leaves. Since the paper was double sided, I got more out of the paper! So I flipped some of the leaves over on the pink side.

I knew I wanted to focus on two clusters and go crazy with the embellishments and that I did!! don’t judge me! ha ha! So i brought in some of the Simple Stories chipboard pieces from the #posh Collection. So now for the title. I couldn’t resist those beautiful #thickers from the #takemeaway collection from Paige Taylor Evans They were just screaming “use me on your layout” and I was like “how could I not!” lol!

I hope you all love this layout as much as I do! Be looking for the process video!!! #hipkitclub #hipkits#scrapbooking #memorykeeping #kits#americancrafts #maggieholmes #paigeevans#simplestories #wildheart
